Cute Little Clairee
Claire has a hematoma on her head. She was wedged in me so tight that they had to suck her out, poor girl. (Not to mention that after her head was out, they had to push on me a ton to get the rest of her out, c-section was defiantly the way to go this time!) It has gone down a bit but that is probably why she was so angry at the beginning of her time here. She has mellowed quite a bit and is a lot of fun to have around. She is so small and light. It is sad to think that she will get big. She is back up to 8 lbs, most of you (except Maureen) have kids that take a while to get there.

Here is a little bit of a smile. She is getting much happier.

Joshie loves both his little sisters. He loves that Claire will just snuggle with him. Aloria is not much of a snuggler but Joshie is. I love that I have at least one snuggley kid.

Things I Should Not Look At
Anyone who has had any type of abdominal surgery will tell you, laughing is not fun. So then I go and look at this site:
It is amazing and makes me laugh so hard, then I hurt, but I keep looking because I am dumb. Maybe I should have filled that percocet prescription...

M.O.s Name
I realize that I did not post this, so here is M.O.s real name
Claire Noelle Ostler
I like it! Still kind of weird to call her Claire and not M.O. Sometimes she is Claire-a-dactyle or the Screeching Claire (like the screeching eels on the Princess Bride). She does this crazy high pitched scream a lot. Or Clairey Potter because she naps in a basket in a closet under the stairs. It is too hard for me at this point in time to walk up and down stairs a lot.

Meeting the Sibs
We came home from the hospital yesterday. Because of H1N1, any children under 18 are not allowed on the maternity floor. I guess this is/was nation wide from the CDC. It was kind of tough not seeing Joshie and Aloria for 3 days. When it was time to go, they had just lifted the band but we decided to just keep the kids in the car when I came out. Aloria was asleep but Joshie just stared at Claire. 'It that M.O.?' he asked. 'Yep" I said. 'She is really small!'
We got home and she needed to be fed (story of my life now). Then we let the kids hold her. Joshie was really excited. He did so well. He loves to just hold and snuggle with her.

Joshie stayed the same size but I feel like Aloria just got HUGE! It makes me kind of sad.
Aloria was so excited for her turn. She loves little babies and dolls. She gave Claire kisses and little hugs. She was quite concerned when her paci fell out. It is really cute. We just really have to watch her, being gentle is not really a strong suit here yet.
Not sure when, if ever, we will have a picture of all 3 of them looking at the camera.
'The' Story
This is the story. We woke up at 5 a.m. to make it to the hospital by 5:30. Kind of nice only being a mile away. Everything went smoothly except for the people who took my blood and couldn't find my vein and I got 4 pokes and bruises. The nurses were great. They wheeled me into the room and the anesthesiologist started his little deal. This was the part the terrified me the most of the whole c-section. I have been in full on labor with the other 2 kids so this part was a welcome relief. Today, not so much. As he was getting ready to place the needle, my Dr. Started playing 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' by U2. Nice. Then when he got the needle in, Dr. S started playing 'a Little Help From My Friends' by the Beatles. Yea, he is a pretty funny guy, and it is nice that he is so laid back. They they stripped me of any modesty I had left (any of you who have done this know what I am talking about, an no, it is not shaving). Let Josh in and got to work. Dr. S had a little music mix going on the the background.
So, cut, cut, snip, snip and out baby starts to come. Josh was standing up and watching the whole thing.
Dr. S: The head is out
M.O.: Starts crying (and continues for the next hour)
Dr.S: Here's the body!
Josh: You were wrong, it's a girl!
Funny though, I was not even a little bit disappointed. I got really excited and emotional. They hold M.O. over the curtain and I get a look and the little slimy lawn gnome for the first time.

I'm just going to throw this out there, she was measuring about 34 weeks at our last visit a week ago. Yea, they were off just a little bit...
For the few brief moments she wasn't crying, this is what she looked like. Also, the only picture we have of Josh the whole time. :(
You aren't really mobile on the table so I could kind of pet her face a little. I really like this hospital. Josh and the baby got to stay with me the whole time instead of vanishing for an hour and returning after I got out of triage. I was really nice. And the staff was amazing. All in all, it was a really good experience.

2 M.O. Days
So, here we are at almost 39 weeks. 1.5 more days. I am so ready. I went to a baby shower for a friend today and I am ready for M.O. to come. Well, not until Monday so mom can be here and I don't have to go into labor again. I am getting quite excited for this baby, what name, gender, look like, personality and such. And to see my toes again!
The kids wanted to get in on the picture action. I am so curious about what M.O. will look like in comparison to theses two. The possibilities are literary endless. As long as baby is pantless most of the time, baby will fit right in!
Here are the kids showing their belly's like mommy's.

The Time Grows Short
Today was another really good day. We played and read and had a good time. I love being a mom to these two. I worry a lot about the effect M.O. will have on them. I put up the pack-n-play up and Joshie got so excited. He asked if M.O. was coming home today. Aloria decided it was a new place for all her toys. I know in the end they will be OK, but it is kind of scary. Still, I am way excited for all the ups and downs that come with three kids.
Here are the kids playing in the toy room. They play really well together and that makes it nice. I have been having them play together so that when M.O. is here, they can entertain each other. They do need to be watched. Today, they put one of their little stools on the coffee table with the little training toilet on that and Joshie getting ready to be the king of the table. Aloria was trying to get her little stool up there. Still, they will play and play and it is great. They rarely fight, today there was one small tiff over some toy or other. We have great kids. I love them a lot.

Almost Big Bed
We moved beds for the kids. Since I am having a c-section and won't be able to lift Aloria into/our of her crib for naps. So we bought Joshie a twin bed and put the toddler bed into Aloria's room. She walks right on in and snugs into her bed and sleeps her whole nap. Then, when she wakes up, she sits in her bed and call for us. She hands us her paci and then hops out of bed. Tonight is her first go sleeping in it all night.
We got Joshies new bed for a steal from Macey's, but it won't be here until the 27th. So we made a little makeshift bed. It is an air mattress folded in half, taped (so he won't go flying in the middle of the night), and then put his new sheets on it and, tada, he has his new bed, for now. He loves it.

Week 38
One more to go. M.O. baby will be making his/her appearance on January 25th. Kind of scary but exciting at the same time. Lots have people have told me I don't look that far along. Really? Are you blind. Maybe because they are standing in front of me or because of the counterweight behind me. Anyway, we have our names narrowed down to about 2 boy and 2 girl, a car seat, diapers and a bassinet. We are ready to go. Ok, not really. Last night I realized that my quick little outings are a thing of the past. I also became more grateful for one potty trained child who can dress himself. I have also decided that showers are for the rich, famous and glamorous. I am ever so grateful for a husband who is totally willing to help in anyway with the children. So M.O. as a 3rd child, pictures of your pregnancy are far and few but we are so excited to meet you. I didn't mean to rhyme but it just happened.
This is what is awaiting sweet little M.O. baby. They may look harmless...
Anyway, I remember when I was pregnant with Aloria, wondering how I could love another child as much as I love Joshie. Well, she came and I did love her just as much. Both differently though. Also, the love in our house has grown by leaps and bounds with each child. I am so excited for M.O. baby to get big enough to play with these two.

Shower for M.O. Baby
When I look down, this is what I see. Hi M.O.!
A: that is awesome that they threw a baby shower for you.
j: they threw a baby shower at you?
A: no, they didn't throw it at him. They gave him the party. (It was kind of hard to explain that one!)
Anyway, they played baby games and everything. I asked Josh if they guessed how big his belly was and he said no. ;) One of his co-workers, KevinAnn, made this awesome diaper cake. So cool!! I have never had one of these made for me and this one is amazing. Kind of sad that we will be taking it apart for the diapers. And they had a Nothing Bunt Cake chocolate chocolate chip cake. So amazing, if you have never had one, you should probably fix that. Josh works with some great people and I love that they threw him a shower. Thanks gals!

Some More Stuff
Ok, I posted this picture of Josh for a reason. I love him very much. I am getting looks like this a lot. I am pretty sure that I am a beyond a little crazy at this point in the child growing process. He never knows what he is going to come home to. Some 'project', decorations, half-naked dirty children (oh, that is normal), me tired (normal too), me ready to crack if I don't get out, some lame dinner, list of chores, a pile of stuff for him to take upstairs, 'just one more thing' he needs to help me with, or the dreaded 'look what I bought today!'. He has been amazing about keeping his thoughts to himself and just rolling with the punches (figurative not literal). I try not to be so crazy, but sometimes, I realize that I being crazy when it is to late. He is such a great husband, I am so lucky that he is sticking around. He is the best husband ever.
I made this little thing to hold Aloria's hair stuff.
F.H.E. for the Year
One thing we are working on this year is being better at Family Home Evening. It is not always easy and we have some extremely short attention spans in our house. It takes a lot to make sure you have a lesson and everything that goes with it. Then I found this little gem. 52 Weeks of Family Night.
It is awesome. you have 52 lessons in the book, cut out the matching squares and pull one each week. The lessons have no preparation needed except to maybe read it through really quick. Each lessons is about a page and a half long. Perfect for out little childrens. So no preparation needed, just get the fam together, sing, pray, family business and the lessons is ready. My kind of F.H.E. The topics are from the Bible, Book of Mormon and latter day prophets. I know that F.H.E. is so vital to our family and I love the weeks when we have it. I am so excited for this little book because it will help us teach our kids what we feel is most important for them to learn.
You have to copy the 52 squares in the back. I spent a ton of time coloring and then mounting them on card stock and laminating them. It was a lot of fun to color. Then I added envelopes to the front and back of the book to hold the cards.
Brendon Drawer Pulls
In the package from Sarah were drawer pulls that have clothes on them so the kid knows what goes where. Joshie was very excited about them. Things got even more exciting when I told him they were from Brendon. He did not want Aloria to touch them. He is quite proud of them.
Cute preschool story. They were using water colors, which Joshie has never used. He was trying to get paint onto his brush but couldn't because he hadn't dipped his brush into the water. He told his teachers that his paints were 'frozen'. I love his little preschool. More on that later.

Computer Geek
Grandma Visher got this computer for Joshie for Christmas. It is SOOOOOO obnoxious. First, the lady has a crazy British accent and is not very nice. Second, there is no volume control and it is LOUD, like in his room with the door shut, me downstairs can hear it like it is right next to me. Needless to say, both kids love it and it buys me tons of time. Here is Aloria pushing buttons only to have the lady say, 'wrong, try again'. That thing and I have a love hate relationship. It is like I am asking them to put down the family dog when it is time to put it away. Hey, it makes them happy.
